Grey Muzzle Woodwork started in 2020 with a love of creating, a garage workshop, and a house full of senior rescue dogs. 

We’re Dean and Kendall. After nearly two decades together, we’ve tackled plenty of projects—and Grey Muzzle Woodwork became one of our favorites. After buying our home in 2016, DIY projects quickly became part of our everyday life—from building a new fence gate to making garden planters for one of Kendall’s many plant collections.

Then 2020 came along.  With some extra time at home, Dean started making wooden wavy flags as a hobby. After sharing a few of them on social media, friends and family began asking if he could make one for them too. Before long, Kendall was recruited into the workshop, and Grey Muzzle Woodwork began to take shape. What started with wooden flags has grown into a much wider collection of handcrafted pieces. Today, we create home décor, gifts, seasonal items, CNC-carved pieces, trays, coasters, outdoor projects, and plenty of new ideas that usually start with one of us saying, “What if we tried this?” We still work together out of our small-but-mighty shop, creating each piece ourselves and continually learning new techniques along the way. We love working with different species of wood and letting the grain, character, and natural imperfections help make every piece unique.

What's the meaning of the name?

Shortly after moving into their new home in 2016, Dean and Kendall adopted their first senior rescue dog and never looked back.  They have a true passion for helping senior pets get a second chance to live our their golden years.  Since their first senior rescue dog, they have fostered and rescued several other dogs.  When coming up with a name, they wanted to choose something that was meaningful to them.  Hence where Grey Muzzle Woodwork was born.  It encompasses two things that they are very passionate about.

What's the significance of the logo?

Hank was the first senior dog Dean and Kendall rescued.  He was the most perfect dog ever! He was so sweet and the one that they will forever have a special place in their hearts for.  Sadly, Hank has since passed over the rainbow bridge but he will ever live on as he is the inspiration for their logo.

 

Who puts together all the projects?

Dean and Kendall work out of their small but mighty space with their senior pets in tow.  The dogs are great at reminding them to take a snack break and ensure quality control on all the pieces.
