Our Story
Grey Muzzle Woodwork was started in 2020 by Dean and Kendall, a creative couple who's passion is to rescue senior pets.
Dean and Kendall have always been DIYers and even more so after their home purchase in 2016. They finally had space to spread out and do some basic DIY builds, ranging from building a gate for their new home's fence or a garden planter for Kendall's one of many plant collections. They have always appreciated the different trees in nature and how the trees change during the seasons. Now using wood to make pieces, they take great care to make sure that every piece is used to it's fullest potential and highlight it's natural beauty.
During the isolation of 2020, Dean started crafting wooden wavy flags. It started as an innocent hobby just to pass the time. After posting his work on social media, other's were interested in a handcrafted flag for their home as well. After several people had expressed interest, Kendall was roped into helping craft the flags. From then on, the couple realized their joy in the hands on nature of woodworking and crafting projects together. From there it snowballed to what it is today.
They are extremely humbled by the outpouring of support they have received on their work and will continue to work to bring bigger and better things in the future.
What's the meaning of the name?
Shortly after moving into their new home in 2016, Dean and Kendall adopted their first senior rescue dog and never looked back. They have a true passion for helping senior pets get a second chance to live our their golden years. Since their first senior rescue dog, they have fostered and rescued several other dogs. When coming up with a name, they wanted to choose something that was meaningful to them. Hence where Grey Muzzle Woodwork was born. It encompasses two things that they are very passionate about.
What's the significance of the logo?
Hank was the first senior dog Dean and Kendall rescued. He was the most perfect dog ever! He was so sweet and the one that they will forever have a special place in their hearts for. Sadly, Hank has since passed over the rainbow bridge but he will ever live on as he is the inspiration for their logo.
Who puts together all the projects?
Dean and Kendall work out of their small but mighty space with their senior pets in tow. The dogs are great at reminding them to take a snack break and ensure quality control on all the pieces.
